How to use the Program “Future Friendly Africa”
The program “Future Friendly Africa” is designed as an adaptable sequence of learning courses that prapare youth workers and young people for working within the field of environmental entrepreneurship and bringing positive change tot he life of communities. The program follows a model that carries two main characteristics – it is research-backed and result-oriented. The program consists of five interrelated courses, covering all the subtopics of the project.
The five courses of the Program “Future Friendly Africa” are designed to work in combination with the online Future Africa Platform, that offers opportunities for online training, online mentorship, self-guided learning and group learning.
The Program “Future Friendly Africa” has three modes of use – online, offline and a blended version, combining online and offline learning. The implementation of the courses can be planned according to the situation and the group it will be carried out with. In any case, the courses are designed to be professionally facilitated and follow the main principles of non-formal learning and youth work.
In the detailed description of every course you can find the number of participants it can be carried out with. Switching between the modes of use, the number of participants can also vary and the facilitator should have that in mind when planning the implementation of the course.
To conduct the program it is necessary to use a training environment identical to the one in which the future youth workers would work – with spacious learning areas for activities involving movement and for undisturbed work in small groups. It should also provide an opportunity for outdoor activities and a wide range of materials and equipment – flipchart stands, projectors, stationery and art materials. It is important to have Internet access. It will be best if the training is carried out in a remote, isolated training centre to achieve a high level of concentration of the participants during intensive training.
A Brief Description:
Future Friendly Africa is a transnational project of cooperation and transfer of capacities and know-how for the development of innovative results in the field of youth entrepreneurship and quality training of young people.
The project focuses on disadvantaged young people. In this way, we improve social inclusion and the well-being of young people in Africa. We contributed to the capacity building of a team of young people and women for the support of young people and associations through technologies based on ICT.
