EMPOWERING YOUTH IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA
From 8- 12 June 2022 we host a meeting in Sofia for the project Future Friendly Africa Project with our partners from Euro-net, Italy and Cacsup/ugb,Senegal.
The project is implemented in the region of sub-Saharan Africa, mainly in Senegal, where youth organizations from Bulgaria and Italy are working to transfer capacity at the local level related to the establishment of centers for youth work, organic farming, and social entrepreneurship. . The aim of the project is to position the European Union and Bulgaria as countries to support and overcome poverty, migration and the consequences of climate change in this region of the world.
On June 10, the delegation had an important meeting with Minister Borislav Sandov, Deputy Minister Nikolay Sidjimov, and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Ministry of Environment and Water. The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation between young people from Bulgaria and Africa to overcome the effects of climate change, desertification, and the construction of a green belt in Africa to stop the advance of the Sahara Desert to the south. The possibilities for expert support and exchange in the field of water and disaster prevention, as well as the possibilities for closer and long-term cooperation, were also discussed at the meeting.
We had many other visits and meetings and we talk about the future platform. Great meeting with lots of good conversations.
